Why we build CallOut

Every home runs on people who fix things.

The heating that comes on before you wake. The shower that runs hot. The lights that come on when you flick the switch. Behind every one of them is someone who knows how it works, and who comes when it doesn't.

They are some of the most trusted people in the country. They walk into strangers' homes, work with gas and electricity, and leave them safe. And for years they have been treated as a lead to be sold.

The trade deserves better.

An engineer pays to see a job. Pays again to stay listed. Bids against the engineer down the road, then chases the invoice for weeks. Spends the evenings on paperwork. Turns down a customer they'd love to help, because the drive is an hour and a half across town.

On the other side of the door it's no better. A day waiting by the window. A stranger on the step and a hope they're who they say. A bill at the end, and nothing to show for it.

We refuse to accept that.

We come from the trade. We've knelt in the cupboards and driven the vans. We know what a good day looks like, and we know what gets in the way of one.

Here is what we believe.

  1. Nobody should pay to work. The job comes with its price on it, and the engineer chooses.
  2. Good work gets paid in days, not weeks.
  3. Safety is not a feature. It's the first question on every job and the last check before anyone leaves.
  4. Every pound is agreed before it's spent, and every job leaves proof of what was done.
  5. The paperwork is ours. The judgement is yours. The copilot is a mate in your ear, never a boss.
  6. Your customers are yours. Your earnings are private, and you're your own boss.

CallOut is how a home gets fixed by someone it can trust: to the people who do the work, for the people who let them in, about every pound, and when the house is cold.

Tap the orange words to see what we do about each one.

It matters who builds this.

Someone will build the way homes get fixed. If it's built to sell leads, engineers stay squeezed. If it's built to cut corners, people get hurt. If it's built to watch people, nobody will trust it. If it's slow, the house stays cold.

So we're building it with the trade, for the trade, and for every home that depends on it.

Let's fix it.
