Community Guidelines

Last updated 27 October 2026

Why we have them

Every CallOut job brings people together in someone's home. These guidelines help everyone feel safe and respected. Breaking them can lead to an account being suspended or closed.

Treat everyone with respect

  • Be polite and considerate. No threats, abuse, harassment or intimidation.
  • No sexual comments, advances or contact.
  • Respect people's homes and belongings. Engineers: take care, tidy up, and ask before going anywhere you were not invited.

Zero tolerance for discrimination

We do not tolerate discrimination based on race, colour, religion, nationality, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, pregnancy or any other protected characteristic. Engineers must not refuse or cancel a job because of who the customer is, and customers must not refuse an engineer for those reasons.

Safety first

  • Engineers must be who they are verified to be. Never let someone else use your account or do a job in your place.
  • Never work, or ask anyone to work, under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Follow gas safety law and the regulations for your trade. If something is unsafe, say so and make it safe.
  • If you smell gas, leave the property and call 0800 111 999.
  • No weapons, and nothing that puts anyone in danger.

Be honest

  • Give accurate information about the job, the property and the work done.
  • Do not create fake accounts, fake reviews or false reports.
  • Engineers: record what you actually did, the readings you actually took and the parts you actually used.

Keep it on CallOut

  • Do not ask for or share personal phone numbers, or arrange to be paid outside CallOut for a CallOut job.
  • Use CallOut's messages and calls, so that the job record is complete and everyone is protected.

Reporting a concern

Use Help in the app at any time, including privately during a job, or email support@calloutlabs.com. A person reads every report. If anyone is in danger, call 999 first.
